Wooden pallet packing tips

Select the proper wooden pallets for your shipment
• Size: wooden Pallets should be large enough to accommodate the shipment without overhang. Anything overhanging the pallet edges are going to be subjected to impacts which will end in punctures, abrasions, and compression damage.
• Quality: you would like a sturdy, durable pallet without protruding nails or broken boards.
Stack boxes on wooden pallets correctly
• If you're using boxes, crates or another sort of shipping container, make certain they're strong enough to face up to stacking
• Make sure all containers are securely closed
• Protect your product by placing the proper amount of dunnage within the containers, in order that no space is left between product and container.
• Align correctly: Align boxes in columns, edge to edge, for the best stacking strength” and “Do not align corners over the spaces between wooden pallet deck boards.
• Don't triangular base boxes; keep the highest layer flat to stop the damage from top loads.”
• “Avoid interlocking or rotating layer patterns
• Use slip sheets: Use an error sheet under the load and each third layer when possible to assist distribute the load evenly and protect the rock bottom layer.
Make sure your shipment is secured to the wooden pallet
• Use strapping or banding to secure your shipment to the wooden pallet and stretch wrap to stop pieces from getting lost or separated from the load.
